Living on the mesmerizing Oregon Coast, debut author Cathy Hickey finds magic in the rivers, wildlife, and waterfalls that surround her.
Cathy lives with her two dogs, Clyde and SuzyQ, who keep her entertained and inspire her with their antics. Cathy’s world shattered when she lost her beloved husband to the merciless disease of small cell lung cancer. In the midst of her sorrow, she found a way to honor his legacy and heal her broken heart: writing her first book, a tribute to to his final battle seen through the eyes of his dog Clyde. As she embarked on her journey, she discovered a hidden passion that had always burned in her soul: writing. She took her first step towards fulfilling her dream of becoming an author in 2000, when she published a poem in the book “Echoes of Yesteryear”. She hopes to write more books in the future and share her stories with the world.
Authors bio (written by Clyde)
Woof! I’m Clyde and I’m here to tell you about my human Cathy Hickey. She is a good human and a new author of ‘The Bow Wow Vow: A Dog’s Promise’, a fun and heartwarming book that I helped her write.
She lives on the Oregon coast in a house by the river with me and my sister SuzyQ, She works in a place where they look at eyes. She lost her husband (my Dad) to small cell lung cancer and found comfort in writing this book as a way of honoring his memory and living her dream of being an author.
She is the best human ever and I love her very much.
